Brand & control

You decide how long each video stays.

Set the availability period that matches your policy. When it ends, Livstick automatically removes the video and the personal data attached to it.

Where it acts

Where your retention choice takes effect.

A gifting programme accumulates recordings of real people, and the contact details that come with them. The compliance question is never whether you keep them, but for how long — and who decides.

  1. Record The sender films
  2. Review Held for a person
  3. Deliver The container opens
  4. Reveal The recipient plays it Configurable Retention acts hereHere
  • The platform setting

One field, in days, carried by the platform itself.

  • The scheduled pass

Whatever crossed the line is taken on the next pass — nothing to trigger.

  • The recording

The video file is destroyed where it is stored.

  • What stays on file

The records remain, stamped with the date, without media or personal fields.

How it works

You set the window. Livstick closes it.

  1. Platform settings
    • Retention window From 1 to 365 days 120 days
    • On a new platform Default value 90 days

    Set

Your team admin types a number of days in the Livstick portal.

  2. One gift
    1. Day 0 Recorded
    2. Day 12 Last activity
    3. Day 132 Window closes

    Counted

The clock starts at the last activity on the gift, not at the recording.

  3. The same video, cleared at the end of the window

    Cleared

On the next hourly pass, the video and the personal fields go. A dated record stays.

Good to know

Four things to know before you pick a number.

Retention is where a rounded promise does the most damage.

  • One number, in days, per platform

From 1 to 365 days, 90 on a new platform. The window belongs to the platform, not to a campaign.

  • The clock starts at the last activity

Measured from the last change to the gift, not from the recording. A gift still in motion pushes its deadline back.

  • What is cleared, named one by one

The video file, the sender’s name and email, the recipient email, and two IP addresses recorded on the journey.

  • Metadata your own systems attach

Fields your systems write onto a message through the API are not cleared by the window. How they are handled is decided with you.

    Settled at scoping

Two programmes, two very different numbers.

Year-round gifting programme

Long enough for returns, short enough for next season

A retailer needs a message to outlive the return window and the post-holiday calls — but not the next campaign. The platform sits at 120 days.

Thirty days, signed on Monday, live on Monday

A data processing agreement caps retention at 30 days after the last activity. The client’s own admin types 30 in the portal that day — no ticket, no release.

FAQ

Questions a compliance review actually asks.

Where is the window set, and who can change it?

On the platform, in days — by your own team admin in the Livstick portal, or with us at onboarding.

What range can we choose?

From 1 to 365 days. A new platform starts at 90.

What exactly is removed when the window closes?

The video file is destroyed, along with the sender’s first name, last name and email, the recipient email held on the gift, and the sender and first-viewer IP addresses. The records stay, stamped with the date.

Can two campaigns have different windows?

No. The window belongs to the platform; a programme that needs two runs on two platforms.

How quickly does it apply?

A scheduled job passes every hour and clears whatever crossed the line.

Tell us how long videos should stay available. We’ll make that window work.
